Coffee, teas,
and hot chocolate are available at all times in the Lodge. There is also a soft drink machine in the
Lodge.
v
Thursday at dinner
we show our appreciation to the kitchen staff by “Passing the Hat”.
v
Happy Hour –
Each afternoon at 5:30 p.m. on the deck of the Lodge. Fruit juice, wine,
munchies, music, and stimulating conversations are offered.
v
Quiet time
after 10:00 p.m. and before 7:00 a.m.
v
Do not turn on
the light is someone is sleeping in the room.
v
Limit
pre-breakfast bathroom stay.
v
Schedule shower
for less busy time of the day.
v
Conserve hot
water.
v
Clean the bathroom
after use; mop up puddles by the shower.
v
Do not leave
personal articles in the bathroom as there is not enough space and these are
communal areas.
v
Do not put
anything other than supplied toilet paper in the toilets. We are on a septic system, not municipal
sewer.
To save water, all of the showerheads have
water savers on them. This is a small
lever above the showerhead. Adjust the
temperature of the water, get wet, and flip the lever to stop the flow of
water, lather up, and flip the lever back to rinse off.
For your safety, alcoholic beverages are not
allowed near the hot tub or the pool.
The combination of alcohol, altitude, and the warm relaxing water can be
deadly! If you are found drinking in
these areas, you will be asked to leave camp and you will not receive a refund. For your safety, you are required to have a
buddy with you at the hot tub. GLASS
CONTAINERS ARE NOT ALLOWED in the pool or hot tub areas. The brown knob on the far fence controls the
bubbles for the hot tub. Turn the knob
toward the pool to get the bubbles going.
If you are the last person out the tub, to conserve, please stop the
bubbles; turn the knob away from the pool and replace the cover on the hot tub
to keep the water warm. Bathing suits are optional.
Because our camp is at about 6,800 feet
elevation, we advise that you use special caution with alcohol consumption, sun
bathing and exercise. You may react
differently than you would at lower altitudes.
Be sure to drink plenty of water.
Workshop sign-up will take place Sunday
evening and Monday morning before breakfast.
Sign-up will close at 8:15 a.m. Monday.
Sign-up sheets will be posted in the Lodge. Limited Workshops will be assigned by lottery among those signed
up. Please pitch in and help setup for
the opening introductions and folk dancing and the talent show. Camp orientation including Workshops and
special activities will be announced Sunday evening after dinner in the
Lodge. Workshop leaders and camp staff
will be introduced.
Our group photo will be taken Tuesday at
10:15 a.m. We want everyone to be
present for this memorable occasion.
This precious and lasting memento is valued for our archives and is
important to those of us who want a personal copy. Names and money for each photograph will be collected at
registration.

A fire extinguisher is located in each

your car keys, gather outside the Lodge and check in with you “Fire Marshall”
for further instructions. (Campers in
each Cabin select a “Fire Marshall” on Sunday evening.) If the Lodge is on fire, go to your car and
drive carefully down the hill.
“Older” mattresses are available in the
Maintenance Cabin. Before you leave
camp, be sure to return the mattresses.
The mattresses from your Cabin are
not to be used outside.
Bring your favorite things or white elephants,
handicrafts and services (such as a dinner, yard work, teaching, massage). There will be bidding cards for each item.
When the auction ends, the person who has bid the largest amount will get the
item or service. All the proceeds from the Auction will go to the PSWIRL
Scholarship Fund. This Auction will take place in the Lodge on tables set up
near the windows. Other than the Silent Auction, goods or services may not be offered
for sale without the consent of the Dean; if permission is granted, ten
percent of the gross proceeds are required to be given to the PSWIRL Treasurer.
On Friday morning we hold a special ceremony
to make the transition from our mountain retreat to our reentry down the hill. Think about a poem you want to share, a
thanks you may want to bestow, and a few personal words about your experience
here. The ceremony is both spontaneous
and structured. To get an agenda, see
the coordinator. Do not move cars
during the ceremony.
3:00 p.m. Friday. Please empty the trash into the large cans on the porch. Sweep out the Cabins and remove all your personal belongings to the porches before Closing Ceremony or before noon.

Dancing, clothing can be casual, ethnic, funky, or dressy. Extra layers are
especially recommended for Astronomy viewing at night from the Parking Lot.
