The UU-oriented nonprofit Pacific SouthWest Institute for Religious
Liberals (PSWIRL -- pronounced "Peace World") welcomes you to their
annual adult camp, at deBenneville Pines Camp and Conference Center in
Angelus Oaks (near Los Angeles), from Sunday, August 22 through
Friday, August 27, 1999. Relax, swim, loaf or take part in a variety
of workshops and activities -- its up to you!

DeBenneville is owned and operated by the Unitarian Universalist
Pacific Southwest District. It is at 6,800 feet altitude in the San
Bernardino National Forest among towering Ponderosa pines, oaks and
cedars with a creek nearby, and Jenks Lake within walking distance.
It has an Olympic-size heated swimming pool and a large hot tub. A
field trip to the Big Bear Lake Solar Observatory will be offered.

Theme speaker Celile Andrews will talk on Voluntary Simplicity.
Cecile is author of The Circle of Simplicity and a founder of the
modern Voluntary Simplicity movement, an effort to live the "examined
     life."
It is a way of living consciously so we can live more fully, in
harmony with the well-being of one another and our earth.

PSWIRL offers a large selection of workshops including personal
growth, writing, creative dance, Nui Gong for beginners, massage,
watercolor painting and drawing, astronomy and Focusing. You can also
enjoy folk dancing lessons, sing-alongs, hikes and nature walks,
swimming at the Olympic pool and hot-tubbing. Or you can just relax
among the big pines of deBenneville. Our facilitators include Rose
Ramsey, Leslie Levy, Susan Ziemer, Beth Perkins, Betsy Walters, Marsha
Harris, Louise Dobbs, Barbara Reinhart, Peter Landecker and Manon
     Washburn.

The cost ranges from $260 to $370, depending on the type of
accommodation you select (including Craig's Cabin), and includes all
meals and workshops. We recommend early registration! You can get a
discount by registering before July 4 or bringing a newcomer.

For Registration information, call Beth Swanson at (310) 830-0717.
