PSWIRL WEEK 1997
The Pacific Southwest Institute for Religious Liberals (PSWIRL) will
have
their annual mountain retreat at Camp deBenneville Pines from Sunday,
July 6
through Friday, July 11. You are most cordially invited to join
us.
This Camp and Conference Center is owned and operated by
the
Unitarian Universalist Pacific Southwest District. It is
located at
6,800 feet altitude in the San Bernardino National
Forest among
towering Ponderosa pines, oaks and cedars with a
creak nearby, and
Jenks Lake within walking distance. It has an
Olympic-size heated
swimming pool as well as a large hot tub.
Fresh, nutritionally
balanced meals are served, with vegetarian
meals on request.
PSWIRL offers a large selection of workshops including personal
growth,
writing, folk dancing, yoga and meditation, body movement, massage,
puppet
making, sing-along, water color and drawing, hiking and nature
walks,
astronomy, etc. Our facilitators include Nick Siedita, Rose Ramsey,
Leslie
Levy, Susan Zeimer, Beth Perkins, Karen Wilson Bell, Betsy Walters,
Sunni
Eckhart, Laurel Quinn, Louise Dobbs, Marcia Harris, Barbara Reinhart,
Harriet
Blumencranz, Manon Washburn and Peter Landecker.
Our theme speaker will be Anne Hines. She has been the minister
of
the San Dieguito Unitarian Fellowship for the past 13 years
and
former minister in residence at Starr King Divinity School.
She will
lecture on: Revealing the "Old" in our Everyday Life,
Clearing Up
Some Religious Distortions. Immediately after each
talk, there will
be a discussion opportunity.
The cost ranges from $260 to $315, depending on the type of accommodation
you
select, and includes all meals and workshops. Since PSWIRL Week starts
early
in July this year, we recommend early registration! You can get a
discount
for bringing a newcomer or registering before May 19.
